Pedal have also fitted the Pedal Derby Electric Folding Bike with a full-sized 250W hub motor in the rear wheel (to ensure great traction and improved safety compared to a front-wheel-motor equipped bike), plus a reliable 7-Speed Shimano Tourney derailleur. The motor is powered by a 374Wh lithium-ion battery which is also removable for easy charging away from the bike, or to make the bike lighter to carry. The battery is positioned conveniently behind the seatpost, leaving ample room for a light load such as some pannier bags or a basket on the rear rack, making this little powerhouse the ideal commuter! *Please note that the Pedal Derby is not suitable for rear rack mounted baby seats.
